Guatemala is often referred to as the jewel of Central America for coffee production and Antigua contains the jewels of Guatemalan coffee. Guatemala is a relatively large country in Central America that borders many coffee growing counties Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, and Belize. Antigua is located in the central highlands, not too far from the Pacific coast. The growing altitude there is quite high and the environmental conditions are excellent. Most Antigua coffees are from smaller family farms that practice sustainable, alternative farming practices. At Mills, we roast this bean to a full city shade to best showcase the beans’ natural elegance and complexity. The cup is dynamic and lively with good acidity and excellent aroma. The taste is very clean, mildly sweet wine with citrus tones and a smooth cocoa finish! This jewel from Antigua is one of the few single origin coffees that can produce a perfectly balanced cup.
Guatemala Antigua is offered whole bean / ground options.
